Kanye West treats birthday girl Kim Kardashian to dinner in Rome... and is thanked with a passionate kiss 

With the big 32 coming up for his paramour on Sunday, Kanye West must've known he had to pull out all the stops for Kim Kardashian's birthday weekend. 

And where better for little Kimmy to celebrate yet another year of world domination than the seat of those original planet conquerors and fabulous accessorisers, The Romans?

Shiny happy people: It was Kanye West's turn to wear leather trousers as he stepped out for a romantic meal in Rome on Thursday night with his girlfriend, Kim Kardashian 

Mr West, 35, whisked Kim out to a romantic restaurant in the City of Love on Thursday night to kickstart the festivities. 

And she looked delighted with the choice of Il Bolognese in the H'Errys Nar in Via Veneto.

The restaurant is, like it says on the tin, famous for it's bolognese pasta so we can all enjoy the image of Kimye having a Lady and the Tramp moment over the table, if they chose to have their bolognese with spaghetti. 

It's a notoriously messy dish to eat (just ask Honey Boo Boo) but luckily Kim didn't spill any rich tomato sauce and mince onto her pretty but ill-fitting green peplum dress.

Kanye, meanwhile, boxed clever in wipe clean leather trousers, all the better for pasta sauce disasters. 

Luckily Kim stopped short of matching her shiny pants with her lovers sheeny trousers - it must be Kanye's turn to wear the leather wonders. 

Kim certainly loves hers, she's been ignoring the months long heatwave in LA and sweltering Miami temperaures to bake in the warming item. 

But she must love Kanye so much, that he got the nod; and she certainly seemed to like him in the item as the pair were spotted passionately kissing in the restaurant.

So pretty: But Kim's dress was less than flattering because it didn't look fitted 

Double trouble: Kanye doesn't have to deal with two Kims, the other one is just a reflection 

Maybe it was the air of romance, the twinkly lights of Rome or the excitement of her birthday treat that drove Kim towards Kanye's lips, something we rarely see her doing. 

Interestingly enough, the reality star wasn't looking at the camera as she kissed her partner... so what we might be seeing her is Kim in the wild, utterly au naturel.

The trip Europe is well-timed break from travails in Miami, where Kim is currently residing. 

The reality star has been in the Sunshine State with sisters Kourtney and Kim as the ladies film the latest season of their spin-off show, Kourtney & Kim Take Miami.

The show chronicles their attempts to set up a new branch of their clothing store Dash and the trio, including younger sister Khloe, have been seen scouting locations.

But not all has gone to plan.

The sisters have been forced to move into the unfashionable North Beach area of the city, after residents blocked their application to move to South Beach. 

A local rule meant the Kardashians needed to get signatures from neighbours living within 500ft of the three homes they wished to lease with a 90 per cent approval rate. 

South Beach residents refused to bend to the sisters' wishes, undoubtedly fearing their placid streets being overrun by television crews and photographers and turning into a virtual circus.
