Lady Gaga and celebs go Gaga over Barack Obama victory
Joy ... Lady Gaga tweets a pic of her and pals celebrating
A clearly excited Gaga joined a host of celebrities revelling in the news of
Obama’s victory this morning.
She told her fans: “I JUST GOT OFF STAGE IN COLUMBIA!! CONGRATULATIONS MR PRESIDENT @BarackObama We are so proud to be American tonight! YES!!! YES! YES!!”
The Born This Way singer than tweeted a picture of herself celebrating with friends, saying: “We just couldn’t be happier my goodness, the joy when freedom prevails.”
Former X Factor judge Kelly Rowland also expressed her delight by posting a picture of herself showing a two-fingered salute with the caption: “2 Terms!!!!!! #Obama.”
Meanwhile Will.i.am thanked America for the result and said: “All that travel, hard work and campaigning was worth it and now it’s time to work even harder."
Earlier in the day Beyonce – whose hubby rapper Jay Z backed Obama at a rally on Monday - and Katy Perry posed for pictures in the polling stations as they got ready to cast their votes.
Meanwhile, on this side of the pond, Brits Ricky Gervais and Sir Paul McCartney showed support for Obama and urged America to make the right decision.
Comedian Ricky wrote: “America, if you only vote for one president this year, make it @BarackObama.”
Elsewhere, sore loser Donald Trump took to Twitter to express his anger at the result saying: “We can’t let this happen. We should march on Washington and stop this travesty. Our nation is totally divided.”
The American tycoon also ranted: “This election is a total sham and a travesty. We are not a democracy!”
