Willow Smith is so accomplished, stylish, and talented that it's easy to forget that she's also just a 12-year-old girl.

But the precocious daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith definitely appeared her age as she flashed her new braces while proudly watching her famous mother speak on Capitol Hill Wednesday.

The mother-daughter duo both brought their individual style to the launch of the Senate Caucus to End Human Trafficking in Washington, DC.

The Whip My Hair hitmaker, famed for her eccentric and daring ensembles, opted to wear turban, stone-wash skinny jeans, and black Doc Martens for the political event.

'Kickin it at the Caucus #dontsellbodies,' the famous tween wrote to her 2.8 million Twitter followers.

Willow dressed up her casual look with a black blazer over a lavender top and an oxblood purse.

Meanwhile Willow's 41-year-old mother, with her hair long and curly, looked sharp in her tangerine jumpsuit as she spoke alongside Senator Rob Portman, Senator Richard Blumenthal, and two survivors of trafficking.
According to the Washington Examiner, Portman then addressed Willow from the podium at the Russell Senate Office Building.

'I asked if she was skipping school,' the leader of the 13-person caucus said, 'and she said "No, this is school."'

This was hardly the sophisticated pre-teen's first visit to Washington, DC.

Last year, Willow performed for none other than the first family at the White House during their Easter bash.

Willow was reportedly inspired to get involved with with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the issue after watching the viral KONY video (about a Ugandan warlord) last spring.

'[Willow] did her own research and realized that there were young girls her age in this country being trafficked for sex,' Pinkett Smith told USA Today last June.

'This is school': When Senator Rob Portman asked Willow if she was skipping school for the press conference, she reportedly replied, 'No, this is school'

'She was like, "Mommy — you don't know what's happening! I've got to give my voice to this. These young girls out there need me."'

Jada recorded the song Nada Se Compara with her band Wicked Evolution and starred in a video directed by Salma Hayek, which is posted on the site DontSellBodies.org.

The actor-activist planned to meet with President Obama's senior advisor Valerie Jarrett at the White House after the press conference.

Willow will soon star in a big-screen Annie remake - penned by British thespian Emma Thompson with music by Jay-Z - which will begin production in New York next spring.

Not seen on Wednesday was Jada's husband Will Smith and 14-year-old son Jaden.

The longtime Hollywood couple, who are constantly plagued with lingering divorce rumours, will be celebrating their 15th anniversary in December.

The 44-year-old movie star and Jaden recently finished filming After Earth, which comes out next June.
