Mariah met her match and she wasn't expecting to!' Nicki Minaj talks judging rivalry and American Idol doubts on new reality show

Their rivalry exploded last month when a furious row erupted between them on the American Idol set.
And Nicki Minaj takes up her feud with Mariah Carey yet again in the first instalment of her new reality show My Truth.
'I think Mariah met her match this time, and I don't think she was expecting to meet her match,' Nicki tells the cameras in a preview segment of the entire three-part-series.

At the star of the month, the women were caught on camera yelling at each other, with Nicki spewing profanities at Mariah, while fellow judges Keith Urban and Randy attempted to calm the situation.
In the revealing show, for which Nicki let the cameras follow her around for a month, the star admits she was not 100 per cent sure about her decision to be a judge on this season's American Idol.
'I'm super nervous and anxious for the first day on American Idol,' she says. 'I'm still second guessing my decision. I'm probably going to be a hundred times guessing this decision because I'm human. It's a big job.'

With 13 hours to go before the first round of auditions, the nerves mount as she is faced with the tricky task of selecting her outfit.
'Picking out the outfit, this is one thing that adds to the anxiety of the first day,' she admits. 'To come out and have these people seeing me and not knowing what they're going to think and knowing you're going to be judged...'
However thing don't go well when Nicki's new stylist misjudges her taste.
'None of this stuff feels like me. These aren't even my colours,' says the singer, dismissing the racks of black and red clothes. 'Where's my funky stuff?'

Cue a conference between Nicki, the stylist and her entourage, where the singer lets rip.
'You should have emailed me like I asked you last time. Because if you had emailed me I would have told you not to bring this stuff.'
'This is 911,' she dramatically declares. 'Dee-saster.'
She still hadn't made her mind up by the time she reaches her New York hotel the next day, rifling through more racks of clothes, declaring: 'Ugly ugly ugly.'

She adds: 'Am I going to be an hour late or two hours late? Do they know literally how embarrassing this is. That I am going to be late for my first day.'
A brown and cream striped dress gets discarded, along with a long curly blonde wig, in favour of a bright yellow and pink hair piece, combined with white jacket over a crop top.
'I never have a look in mind. I know it when I see it,' she says. 'If you tell me to choose something when I'm anxious or nervous, then I'm going to find a problem with every single thing.'

Despite the amount of wardrobe choice available, Nicki declared herself still 'not really happy with the outfit.'
Nevertheless, she made her way to the studios for the first round of auditions.
Lateness seemed to be a theme for the singer, who also was not on time for an appearance on talk show The View, unaware that the popular day time show went out live.
'I thought it was a taping,' she said. 'Little did I know it was a live show. I missed my segment. They had to push my segment back. '

Luckily a chat with her fans out of her limousine's window seems to cheer her up.
'I make sure I make my fans feel important and remember them,' she says. 'If I stopped having that relationship with my fans, I would stop being in the business. Because that is what gets me out of bed in the morning sometimes.'
Following her TV appearance - to promote her first perfume Pink Friday - the star heads to Macy's New York to officially launch the fragrance.

'I don't think people understand how big of a deal this is,' she confides. 'I'm a little girl from Queens, New York. I've wanted to do a fragrance from when I can remember. I feel like it's a milestone for young black girls everywhere.'
Sporting a bright pink jacket, cap and blue and white trousers, she embarks on a series of interviews with the press, including a sit down with blogger Perez Hilton.
After describing herself as 'A crazy psychopath with great extensions,' she lays into Perez after he asks her if she wants to set any story straight about herself.

Nicki's thriving music career does not go uncovered, with the star given just 24 hours to film the new music video The Boys in signature coloured outfit.
However, she takes great offence to one of her assistant's suggestions that she should 'get fatter,' after he goes out to get lunch.

The video goes well, with Nicki cavorting alongside a giant ball, although she takes exception to the number of people crowding around the monitor to watch the take, worried some of the images would be leaked to Twitter - 'It's annoying,' she says.
In more philosophical mood, she heads to the studio to record the the song Freedom, declaring she is 'my own worst critic.'

'With the song Freedom, I was able to write about all the things I'm juggling,' says the singer, whose appearance is more pared down in the studio.
'It's very overwhelming at times. Sometimes I just want time out - to just stop everything for a second and say "wait a minute, because I'm one person."'
She also explains her inspiration behind the song: 'I feel like I'm an easy person to ridicule and tear apart and Freedom is accepting all of that. Knowing that you'll never know who all those people are. But if you know who you are. That's freedom.'
